The Hemp Industry

To establish a viable hemp industry in Western Australia a complete infrastructure is needed. At this stage hemp remains a niche market, however its potential to provide solutions to many environmental problems is well documented.

Industrial Hemp has been cultivated and used for thousands of years, often intricately interwoven with traditional ceremonies and celebrations.

Today, this same product and hybrid versions of the same plant are being cultivated and processed using 21st Century technology, creating a diversity of products that will compete with the damaging petroleum based, non-renewable sourced products.

The history of conspiracy, greed and corruption behind the elimination of this previously prosperous agricultural and industrial business through taxes and laws is quite amazing.

Countries like Australia have been slow to amend their laws, holding back huge potential for this nation.

The Hemp Industry needs a sound structural basis and classification of the low THC varieties as an agricultural product, removing it from the poisonous plants and prohibited seed Acts.

The current Western Australian Government, particularly the Minister for Agriculture, Kim Chance, has given undertakings to make changes to the laws, however nearly three years after initial meetings nothing has changed.
